GFFA 2016

On January 15th  2016, the Leibniz Research Alliance "Food and Nutrition" in association with the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) organised a panel discussion at the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA). The meeting took place at the CityCube in Berlin. The subject 'Healthy Nutrition for the Cities – Challenges and Visions' was discussed by panelists coming from different fields of expertise. Dr. Bernhard Url, Executive Director of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), discussed with the following scientists from partner institutes of the Research Alliance: Prof. Dr. Alfons Balmann, Director of the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO), Prof. Dr. Sonoko D. Bellingrath-Kimura, Head of the Institute of Land Use Systems, Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF), Dr. Ina Danquah, Scientific staff member of the German Institute of Human Nutrition Potsdam-Rehbruecke (DIfE), Prof. Dr. Peter Köhler, Vice Director of the German Research Centre for Food Chemistry | Leibniz Institute (DFA), Prof. Dr. Christa Kühn, Head of the Genome Physiology Unit, Leibniz Institute for Farm Animal Biology (FBN), and Prof. Dr. Hermann Lotze-Campen, Chair of PIK Research Domain Climate Impact and Vulnerabilities, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK). The discussion was opened by Prof. Dr. Reiner Brunsch, scientific director of Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engineering and Bioeconomy (ATB). The host was Dr. Manja-Christina Reuter, coordinator of the Leibniz Research Alliance "Food and Nutrition".
