In times of an ever-increasing population and a rapidly growing consumption of resources 13 of the Leibniz Institutes have come together in the Leibniz Research Alliance to solve some of the questions concerninga more sustainable food production and healthy nutrition. A big focus of this research has been placed on the future of our protein sources – may it be meat, legumes or insects.Visitors could find out how much they know, with our Protein-Memory Game …
At the Potsdam Day of Science on 11th May 2019 many visitors came to the booth of the Leibniz Institute for Agricultural Engeneering and Bioeconomy (ATB) where the Research Alliance "Food & Nutrition" showcased the interdisciplinary research of its member institutes. Visitors were also encouraged to test their knowledge of the level of protein in different foods and participate in a study on the role of digitalization in nutrition. These interactive offers were well received by visitors of all ages.
On the 9th of June 2018 the Leibniz Research Alliance and five of its members presented interesting and current scientific topics at the "House of the Leibniz-community" (Berlin centre). We showed the results of different studies from the LBS, IPK, ZALF, IGZ and ATB as well as results from common research projects. Here you get very close to science through presentations, LIVE experiments and personal conversations.
